Back for round 2 on the space shuttle. Am busy (happily) fixing up a huge backlog of lego sets, starting with one of my 10xxx sets. Will blog about it in time (while still clearing blogging on past sets...phew!)

Lego City 3367 Space Shuttle Part 1

A birthday present for my younger boy a few months ago. Only got around to building it in August I think. As usual, I will involve my boys in the building process with me coming in only at the difficult parts. It was great fun and it was another finished product that they could play with.

Lego City 3366 Satellite Launch Pad Part 2

And to finish up the Lego Day, I thought...why not put up Part 2 too? The remaining images are the other small components of the set.

The small satellite to be sent to space to detect presence of Lego in the universe.

"So that's what's stopping all of us!" "Type type, click, click" *Slurps coffee...

All in all, it was great fun watching my boy put all these together! Will start work on the next project soon!

It's a Lego Day!

Another day of fun for the kids today. Brought them out to catch Cars 2 at Plaza Singapura GV. Surprised that it really turned out to be a rather good animation with quite a bit of humor the kids could not catch. The car designs were another plus point considering there is Lego Cars theme now......

Visited Bricks World after that as they are having their 20% discount for members. I could not prevent myself from grabbing the new winter themed Winter Village Bakery (10216) for the upcoming holiday season. Bought three Hero Factory robots for my boys and my nephew. Just had to throw in a small Ninjago set as I could not resist the black ninja minifig.

And what a day of Lego! My orders from Brick Station also arrived in the evening! Got my dragon knights and lion knights set of minifigs from Kingdoms, my three advent calendars (including the two new ones just released) from Star Wars, City and Kingdoms, the collectors guide and Luke's Landspeeder.

Finished two simple sets of Ben 10 Aliens with the boys earlier on for them to play with before sorting out my sets. What a Lego Day!

Lego City 3366 Satellite Launch Pad Part 1

Something light this time. The Satellite Launch Pad is part of the space sub theme under the city theme. I have all 4 sub sets and this particular one was given as a gift to my elder son on the birthday of my younger son. (He received the larger space shuttle and we have all just finished working on it today!)

I tasked my older boy to read the instructions and fix up the whole set by himself (with me supervising him by the side and stopping him from time to time to take photos) and I was glad he managed to accomplish the task happily.

Without further ado, here's the first of two short parters on the set.

The first of the two main items would be the transport van that houses the sophisticated equipment needed to launch the mini rocket.

A simple base with a hint of "reds" to come

Lego City 7498 Police Station Part 3

Here's to the final part of the huge police station that is the largest item by far that I have built with my sons.
I will be focusing on the right tower attachment with the helipad on the rooftop.

The right tower is built as a separate attachment on a different base plate. Both sides are joint together at the base plate and a connector in the middle.
